Re: Sahkku, Rules
Copied from the small forum Oct. 30th 2022: Draganov: @Hagbard, I joined Thomas's invitation to play Daldos 3x12 and saw that we both started the game with three active pieces. Is this a new variant? I think this variant could be better than the old Daldos. However, is there any historical evidence ...

Re: Hnefatafl Internet Championship
The timing idea of Cacreal in combination with the method above was tested All games for the latest two years 2021 and 2022 were reviewed regarding the timing. Had the timing method been the here mentioned, then out of 12047 games only 23 games would have got into trouble with end game timeout limi...

Re: Hnefatafl Internet Championship
The timing idea of Cacreal in combination with the method above was tested on the last two World Tourn. games. If using this method then: Draganov / Cacreal. WTF World Championship Tournament 2022, Copenhagen Hnefatafl 11x11, 214 moves, ongoing 40 days White: It's possible to time out after 3.6 hour...

Re: Hnefatafl Internet Championship
Does it mean that if someone's time buffer is -6 days, he/she will be timed out if can't respond with a move in 2 hours after the opponent's move. If this is the true and a player A has to respond in 2 hours, the player B just need to make a move during the night and will win the game. That's right...

Timing. Copied from the small forum Oct. 12th 2022: cacreal: Can we add a total time to make our moves to the tournament games? Asking for a friend... Hagbard: Do you have a value in mind? cacreal: The current format makes it a world record for tournament length, which in itself is noteworthy. If e...

Re: Copenhagen Hnefatafl
Copenhagen games which ended in a draw because of too few pieces on both sides. A draw is usually the result when black has less than 17 pieces and white less than 4 pieces. These examples were found: 13.4.2022 Holidayinnes/Jilles. A draw was finally agreed after 18 rounds with no captures (18 whit...

Daabloe and Cuhkka
The Saami draughts games Daabloe and Cuhkka may have deep roots in the oldest draughts games. Oct. 15th 2022 we were so lucky to meet the Frisian double World Champion in Frisian Draughts Marten Walinga, who visited Denmark to promote the Frisian Draughts. Walinga demonstrated the Frisian Draughts a...

Re: Medieval Market
The market is in an old Danish town founded in Viking Age.
I have considered to hand write the rules, they would be rather short.
Rumour says that the Queen's sister will take part in one event there.

Medieval Market
I have a problem. In a month I take part in a Medieval Market. It's a very authentic event, we're perhaps about 200 participants wearing authentic medieval clothes and to that about 10,000 guests. We are 7 people who get a corner for presenting Medieval board games, and I bring the Hnefatafl. Board ...
