Just reached this position as Black after moving C6-C5.

Since that move surrounded the King on 2 sides I thought the king would be captured. However it was not.

Is this because Brandubh3 includes an exception for squares adjacent the throne? Or is this a bug?

Brandubh3 has a normal throne, i.e. king captured by 4 on it and by 3 next to it.
The exceptions here are that noone can cross the throne and the king cannot return.
