Captured soldiers

I'd like to know why the number of captured soldiers during a game aren't indicated for all variants ?

For example , when we play "Saami Cuhkka 5x5" the numbers of pieces captured by each players isn't indicated.
When we play "Historical Hnefatafl 7x7 (Irish Brandubh 2)" the number is indicated.

I don't understand the reason of this difference.
