You need to set their color mode from RGB to Indexed to make them work.

Okay here are some new versions, indexed colours, transparant background and 40 x 40 pixels
While I was at it, I simplified the design a bit (less details)

Curious how this is gonna work out...

Okay, I've made one more version. This time the pieces use branan's colors and I've drawn a new more comicesque version of the king based on baran's design.

After the test tournament, your own set of pieces could be used for Tyr 17x17?
