Re: archive
I think I have a couple statements, why I doubt this holds true: 0. I think there are very few players actually developing opening lines. I noticed Plantagenet playing some adjusted to his playing style, but I doubt they are particular strong, they just show some perfection, because he is a strong p...

Re: Compiling a list of openings
Are you sure that judgment of 75 % (or higher) is accurate? I think if you let people like Plantagenet and me face off each other the result would be that drastic. What are you trying to measure? What do these probability even mean? Looking at the players there where a few players in there, who are ...

@Hagbard: Thank you! That helps a lot!
@ edmond_dantes: Why? If you want the game to stay in it's infant stages - maybe. Don't you trust the depth this game actually has?

Hello,
the search in the Games archive doesn't seem to work for games from 2014 and earlier. Is there a way to search for them explicitly?

Re: Nath-project
Thank you for pasting it here. Sorry for the late reply - I wasn't much at home recently. First of all: I don't feel like this *should* be my project. I know well enough that I have neither the time nor the skill to pull that off my own. I am ready to move on if people join me, but unless I get prac...

Re: Where to buy the game?
The printing of the board is kinda precisely what I do for these travel sets. I have different gameboards, but I still prefer the self printed ones, since they exactly reflect what I expect from a game board. I'd advise against pen caps. They aren't nice visually and rather difficult to place. A set...

Re: Where to buy the game?
Sorry for the late notice - I was absent for quite some time. It highly depends on what you are looking for. I mainly play on simple traveling sets as I call them, they basically consist of glass nuggets of the corresponding colors (I prefer black for black, white for white and red for the king) and...

Re: Compiling a list of openings
I think the prefixes are actually to short to say things definitely, but I am intrigued that there's something happening here. I'd love some top level player discoursing about openings. I personally think (even though I pushed an promoted that move when there where little to none composed openings) ...

Re: Hnefatafl Internet Championship
Regarding the championship itself I'd like to have a final (I suggest at least two matches e.g. four games) between a challenger and the world champion. They can also run paralell (with for example 10 days offset). We could generate the challenger as the winner of a mass tournament like we did this ...

Re: Hnefatafl Internet Championship
Your suggestion for ties is a good idea. That should be more fair. I like also your idea of smaller groups for the preliminary rounds. What kind of system do you suggest exactly? I think it is kind of interesting to make groups out of 5-7 players with a focus on five (13 players a group of 6 and a g...
