Re: Brandubh 7x7

Question on corner captures in Brandubh. Below is an example. 1. There is an Attacker on square C1. 2. The King moves B2-B1. 3. A second Attacker moves B4-B2. Does the second Attacker's move, B4-B2, capture the King in Brandubh? The King would be captured in Old Hnefatafl. Thanks, mccluskeyp In you...

Re: tournament

Is it possible to create a tournament on this site to be administered by a person other than Mr Aage Nielsen. In the sense of the new director and judge to determine the regulation, form, playing time, prize and participation fee? My idea is to make a championship league on Hnefaftal, which does no...

Re: rating

how does the rating restate? why does my rating change without having completed a game in that period? why do the ratings in all games differ from those on the front page? The rating parameters were a bit different the first years. Therefore the accurate ratings are found by running through all gam...

Re: General rules

I think adding the corner rule/trying it out on sea tafl is a good idea as it makes sense with the geography of the game, namely open sea. I don't think we should implement this rule in historical hnefatafl for two reasons: Firstly because the game is working so beautifully and is (Finally) in conc...

Re: Championship

Splitting the triathlon. The triathlon tournament 2015 took 148 dage = 5 months to finish. And 5 long months it was with the same group of 14 players where others could not join in after the combined tournament had started. The internet seems not a very suitable place for a complex event like this,...

Re: Tafl in Russia

Amazing!! But I hope that we shall be able to play other more balanced tafl variants in the new tournaments ... First and foremost, we shall continue to spread the word of the Historical Hnefatafl rules in praise of Tablut and Tawlbwrdd. With a very small change the game is well balanced on your fin...

Re: Tafl in Russia

Thank you, very interesting! Your post opens a door to a new universe - half of the world known to the vikings. It seems that the name "Obereg" is a modern invention by the author Mihail Zadornov: Sergej Tsvetkov: "I'm often asked, where does this unusual game come from? Why doesn't anybody know thi...
